Dunn’s Marsh Neighborhood Sign Goes in at 10 a.m. this morning
Want to watch some history in progress? After years of working on getting a Dunn’s Marsh Neighborhood sign, the deed is finally being done this morning, September 12, at 10 a.m.
If you want to see the sign go up, come on over to the Beltline Frontage Road near its intersection with Seminole Highway. The sign will be put up in front of the Midwest Financial Group building between the fire hydrant and the entrance to their parking lot.
Susan Cary (Cary Signs) is in charge of installing the sign. Afterward, we will hood the sign to ward off taggers.
The hood will come off on September 29, at 1:30 p.m. when volunteers from the neighborhood plant the flowerbed in front of and around the sign.
Volunteer to be Part of the Planting Party for the Sign, Sept. 29
Please consider being part of the group of neighborhood residents who will be putting in the flowerbed in front of and around the new Dunn’s Marsh Neighborhood sign.
The planting party will gather at the sign on Saturday, September 29, at 1:30 p.m. to put in over 100 native plants and then place mulch around them.
At that time the sign will be unhooded. There might be some brief remarks or at least some photo ops during the event as well.

If you think you might be interested, please respond to this e-mail. It would help us plan the occasion to know how many will be coming.
Attached is a copy of the planting plan. The selection and design was done by neighbor Susan Kilmer who works with native plants at the Arboretum. Susan will be organizing our planting work.

I would fix the problems in Dunn's Marsh before worrying about a sign. Perhaps a sign warning people about the dangers in the neighborhood would be a better idea.
