DMN - Sat/Sun Kids' Mosaic Party

Two Things
    1 - Kids’ Tracing Party Feb. 22 or 23 & Design Party March 8 or 9, in the neighborhood  
    2. Family Architectural Fun March 1, Monona Terrace

MOSAIC PROJECT FOR KIDS (Verona Rd. Project) - Local rtist and teacher Elizabeth Doyle will lmake mosaics in collaboration with kids in our neighborhood.  Neighborhood kids (including teens) are invited to express themselves and have fun making mosaics.  This work will be permanently installed as part of the Verona Road Reconstruction Project in late summer, 2014.

Come to a  tracing party (either Feb. 22 or 23) and a design party (March 8 or 9).   Nine life-size tracings of kids will be made into mosaics for a retaining wall near the roundabout to be constructed under Verona Road.  FREE. Snacks, too.

TRACING PARTY
Kids trace each other on big sheets of paper.  Mosaic designs will be based on selected tracings.  Snacks provided.
       Sat., Feb. 22, 1-4 pm at Boys & Girls Club, 4619 Jenewein Rd.
        Sun., Feb. 23, 1-4 pm at 2010 Whenona Dr. (Prairie UU Society)
       

DESIGN PARTY  
Kids draw and share their ideas for what the mosaic figures should look like inside.  Colors?  Images?  Dreams?  No experience necessary.  Snacks provided!
       Sat., Mar. 8, 1-4 pm, at Boys & Girls Club. 4619 Jenewein Rd
        Sun., March 9, 3-5 pm at 2010 Whenona Dr. (Prairie UU Society)
 


GIVE YOUR KID THE CHANCE TO BE ONE OF THE TRACINGS!  Come to any or all events.  Registration not required.  Free.  Parents and Guardians are welcome to attend events with your kids.  Adult must accompany any child 5 or under.

TERRACE TOWN 2014 - Going Green

Saturday, March 1
10 am to 4 pm
Monona Terrace Exhibition Hall
Free and Open to the Public

·     View 10,000 square feet of “green” scale model cities which were designed by 1,500 local students using recycled materials!
·     Create your own building out of recycled materials and add it to our model city of Madison
·     Make a structure using cookies and other edible decorations
·     Enjoy a big block building area
·     Hands-on activities by Madison Children’s Museum and American Institute of Architects Wisconsin
